The best football teams presented below have endured years and years of intense rivalry and stiff competition. They have showed us exceptional football; football of extremely high technical standards. And, of course, they have more than one trophies in their collection.

Barcelona & Real Madrid (Spain)

Formed almost exclusively from the Real Madrid and Barcelona teams, Spain has to be the best football team of all times, having gone unbeaten for 35 games and winning 3 consecutive international football tournaments, namely the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and the 2008 and 2012 European Championships.

Speaking of Barcelona, the team won their first treble by a Spanish club in 2009, a decade after Manchester United’s achievement (Barcelona won 2-0), while also winning the Copa Del Rey and destroying Real Madrid 6-2 to win La Liga. Their distinct style also won them the UEFA Super Cups and the FIFA Club World Cup in 2009.

As for Real Madrid, they dominated the football scene from 1956 from 1960, when they won the European Champions League five times in a row. That aside, Real has three FIFA Club World Cup wins and four Super Cup trophies.

Manchester United & Arsenal (United Kingdom)

In a single season (1998-99), Manchester United won three cups – the Champions League, the FA Cup, and the Premier League – and included greats such as Roy Keane, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Ryan Giggs. The 1999 Champions League finals was a huge celebration of great football, where Manchester United won Bayern Munich with 2 late goals from Solskjær and Sheringham. Besides one UEFA Europa League and one UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup, the team has also won a record 21 FA Community Shields, 20 League titles, and 5 League Cups.

The “Arsenal Invincibles”, on the other hand, have their own share of wins and successes., when they went through the 49 games of the Premier League (in 2003-2004 season) unbeaten. Although followed by Juventus, who equalled this accomplishment in 2012, Arsenal managed to finish on 90 points and an impressively greater number of wins. They have been declared the best team of the Premier League, and rightfully so, counting 45 trophies to date.

West Germany

The German team has not only featured some of he best football players of all time, like Franz Beckenbauer, Gerd Müller, and Berti Vogts, but also won the 1974 World Cup and the 1972 European Championships. The reached the World Cup final 6 times, being runners-up 4 times and winning 3 (1990, 1974, and 1954). From what it seems, a new German generation of footballers is ready to take on the glorious history of their national football team and head into the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

AC Milan

The team won the Italian League four times and the European Champions League three times, during a 6-year period starting 1988.
